Part Dos
My friend Beth and I work at camp together, though sadly she's only been here for a few months and she'll head back to Virginia in less than a month.
She is truly a kindred spirit and what makes me laugh is we also happen to look sort of similar, but this seems to be more than the poor folks of Redwood Glen can handle. People are constantly thinking one of us is the other.
She and I decided yesterday that it was time to buy, and to bring back, the toe ring. Yes.
My Tuesday Highlights
I was able to be a part of a Passover Seder that my church did.
It was really special and meaningful, and I am again reminded how important it is to know the roots of my faith because they are just that - MY roots. They inform everything I believe. Anyway, it was very beautiful how Christ is the fulfillment of all that symbolism.
I included a photo of these brown eggs now in my fridge to tell you something that will make you understand how ridiculous I really am. The last thing you do in a passover Seder has to do with a boiled egg, to represent the destruction of the temple (in our case, also the death and resurrection of Jesus Messiah). So each row of people had a boiled egg, but we didn't eat them. So after everything was finished, I was helping clean up all the napkins and half-full cups of grape juice (no wine, sadly - this was a family show), cups of horseradish (I bet this piques your curiosity!), etc. I was throwing everything that was half-eaten away, and I threw one egg away and said...wait. Why? Why throw perfectly good uneaten (shell still on, mind you) hard boiled eggs away? I asked my friend who helped put the Seder on and he said, yeah, you're more than welcome to take them home. So I did. All of them. I put them in my bag like an old lady.
This really happened.
